This Nikon 24mm f2.8 Nikkor-N was first introduced in 1967 and was the first Nikkor lens to employ floating elements that improved image quality at the lens' closest focusing distances. This allowed the Nikon 24mm f2.8 to not only excel as a wide angle lens used at infinity such as with landscape or cityscape photography, but took advantage of this lens' natural ability to achieve very close focusing distances (as close as 30cm / 12in). It is a compact lens that offers a significantly wider field of view than the more common 28mm and has long been a popular lens amongst Nikon users. This lens has a 52mm filter thread.
This lens has the Non-AI version of the Nikon F lens mount and should be used solely on Non-AI Nikon SLR cameras such as the Nikon F and early F2 cameras. Check your camera for lens compatibility before attempting to mount a Non-AI lens on it.
